City of Lewistown City Council met Aug. 19.

Water Committee Meeting
Committee Members- Kendall Miller (Chairman), Sally Clark, Jim Long
Business to discuss- Discuss FS water line. Evinn Palmer stated that FS currently has a water line but are asking for a line directly to their tanks. Alderperson Miller stated after talking with Evinn that the city really cannot do that at this time. Alderperson Miller stated it would not be good for our water quality. Evinn stated that in a couple years that would be a different story. Alderperson Miller asked if they were close enough to possibly get south Fulton water but Alderperson Levingston stated they would have to acquire a lot of property. Evinn stated that it was a no for him. Alderperson Miller stated at this time we would not be able to allow them to get a bigger line. Meeting adjourned at 4:47 p.m.
LEWISTOWN CITY COUNCIL MEETING
The Lewistown City Council met in regular session in the council chambers. Mayor Cindy Goddard called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Alderperson Sally Clark, Jim Long, Brad, Kendall Miller, David Levingston and Mayor Cindy Goddard. Also present: City Treasurer Debby Brown
DECLARATION OF QUORUM by Mayor Cindy Goddard
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Discuss/Act Upon Certificate of Deposit at Ipava State Bank, Treasurer Brown informed the council the city has a Certificate of Deposit maturing at Ipava State Bank on August 25, 2025 the total is $1,090,948.96. Treasurer Brown contacted all the banks here in town and Ipava State Bank gave rates at a longer term and that if we needed to withdraw any they would not penalize the city. Alderperson Miller did a comparison and thinks that the twelve months at Ipava State Bank would be the better deal, council agreed. Motion by Alderperson Clark to keep the Certificate of Deposit at Ipava Stated bank for twelve months at 3.95% and Treasurer Debbie Brown, Clerk Natalie Nelson, and Mayor Goddard has council approval to act on Certificate of Deposit at Ipava Stated Bank second by Alderman Long, roll call vote, motion carried all ayes.
2. Discuss/Act Upon IMRF, Clerk Nelson stated that Evinn and Gary have been having extra electives taken out of their checks sense June of 2024 and the paperwork was never filed with IMRF. Clerk Nelson stated that IMRF will only go back to December of 2024 but that does not include June of 2024 through November of 2024. Mayor Goddard stated she had also called and IMRF stated it is a law and they can only go back three months. Alderperson Clark asked what account their money is sitting in, Clerk Nelson stated that it is sitting in the payroll account and it does not draw any interest. Clerk Nelson stated that it would have been drawing 7% interest in IMRF, Evinn's total would be $2,407.66 and Gary's total would be $885.67. Alderperson Levingston asked Evinn how he felt about it, Evinn stated that something would need to be drawn up so it would not come back on anyone down the road. Alderperson Levingston stated that it was Levi's doing and Alderperson Clark said that Levi is no longer here. Mayor Goddard stated it was also on the IMRF lady also. Motion by Alderperson Levingston to approve paying Evinn and Gary the amounts pending they approve it. second by Alderperson Miller, roll call vote, motion carried all ayes.

Alderperson Miller made a motion to adjourn at 5:11 p.m. motion carried all ayes.
