In order to stay on top of maintaining the city's potholes this winter, the Moline Public Works Street Division has created the Pothole of the Month Contest.
The contest runs through March 31 and awards a $50 gift certificate to the resident who reports the largest pothole.
Residents can submit an entry by calling 309-524-2407 and reporting their name, address, phone number and the location of the pothole.
Moline officials said they depend on resident input to identify and fix potholes. By calling the Pothole Hotline, residents immediately generate a new work order, which is usually satisfied within two days.
