Rock Island announces road closure.
The City of Rock Island will close 19th Street at Sixth Avenue to through traffic tomorrow, March 2, while crews make repairs to the water system for Trinity Anglican Church.
City officials expect the road to reopen with temporary pavement by tomorrow evening.
In the meantime, commuters should expect delays near the construction area.
Construction crews are expected to return to the site when the weather warms enough to put down a layer of permanent pavement.
