Renowned photographer and photojournalist Mark Hirsch will present his new iPhone photo journal and coffee table book "That Tree" March 22 at the Rock Island Main Library.
Hirsch has taken photos for The New York Times, Getty Images, the John Deere Corporation and others. Following a near-fatal car crash in 2013, Hirsch channeled his creative energy into photographing a single Bur Oak in a midwestern cornfield every day for a year. "That Tree" is the resulting project.
The work has earned acclaim on NPR, CBS, NBC, PBS and other outlets.
In addition to his presentation at the library, Hirsch is also in the middle of an artist residency at Quad City Arts.
The event begins at 6 p.m.
