Moline announced this week that it is offering co-working space to interested workers.
According to the city announcement, this space consists of an office that supports multiple workers that work with different organizations. The space also offers social gathering space for people who are often isolated in their work.
There is a survey on the Moline website for those that are interesting in pursuing this kind of opportunity. On this survey, it asks questions that detail what kind of work an individual would be doing in the space, what amenities a prospective renter would need and how much an individual would be willing to pay for co-working space. It also requests information regarding if an individual is willing to offer mentorship to beginning entrepreneurs who would also utilize the space.
The notice indicates that this kind of working environment is suitable to those who work from home, those that travel, those serving as independent contractors and those that do freelance work. It also notes that an office space of this kind would allow independent workers to avoid distractions that are at home.
Possible locations include downtown areas in Moline, Rock Island, East Moline, Bettendorf and Davenport.
