State Senator Neil Anderson | Illinois General Assembly
State Senator Neil Anderson, in collaboration with the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM), has announced the allocation of nearly a dozen Small Equipment Grants to fire departments within the 47th District. These grants aim to provide crucial support to local fire services by enabling equipment upgrades often funded through community initiatives like fish fries and pancake breakfasts.
“These grants are extremely important to our small rural departments,” stated Senator Anderson. "Oftentimes, these districts rely on fundraising efforts, such as fish fries and pancake breakfasts, to support operations or make much-needed equipment upgrades. I am happy to see nearly $250,000 being invested in public safety."
The distribution of funds provides significant financial support to several fire departments in the region, which include:
- Cass-Putman Rescue Services NFP receives $23,815
- Easton Rural Fire Protection District is awarded $25,992
- Farmington Fire Protection District obtains $26,000
- Good Hope – Sciota Fire Protection District secures $26,000
- Green Valley Fire Protection District receives $19,725
- Kewanee Fire Department is granted $21,455.46
