A water main break has caused road closures in Rock Island.
A water main break on 49th Avenue from Eighth Street to 11th Street, which occurred in Rock Island Wednesday, forced closures as crews worked to repair the sudden leak.
Rock Island officials said they did not believe the break had caused any contamination problems, and that residents should expect to still receive potable water, though the supply may be interrupted.
City officials said traffic delays in the area were likely until the break is fixed, but did not say when they thought that would be.
