III. Public hearing concerning the amended budget for the 2015-16 school year

The public hearing was held to amend the budget for the 2015-16 SY. The tentative amended budget was presented at the April board meeting. The district then posted a notice of public hearing that was to be held during the June board meeting. This allows the tentative amended budget to be on display for 30 days prior to the adoption.

Mrs. Betsworth entered the meeting at 6:16 p.m.

Mrs. Kyser summarized the amendments to the 2015-2016 budget. The State of Illinois owes District #37, $500,000. The district budgeted $400,000 in case we do not get the state monies by June 30, 2016. If monies have not been received by June 30th, the district will need to do a permanent transfer of monies. The Board of Education would have to hold a special meeting before the 30th to do the permanent transfer. The district stayed under budget and expenditures for 2015-2016.

Kent Buckrop, teacher at Glenview, asked how we know if the district has received the state money. Mrs. Kyser explained that the money is vouchered and the district’s bank verifies by providing a copy of the deposit once it is added to the district’s account.
