The City of Moline Traffic Engineering Committee met Tuesday, July 5.
The Moline Traffic Engineering Committee makes recommendations to the city council and the Moline Parking Committee on the use of traffic signals, traffic signs, parking lots and traffic studies in accordance with the Uniform Manual on Traffic Control Devices. The committee meets on the first Tuesday of each month.

Scott Hinton called the meeting to order at 1:40 p.m.
Agenda Items:
1. Approval of minutes of the Traffic Engineering Committee meeting of June 7, 2016. Motion to approve minutes by Mathias, seconded by Kurek. Motion carried unanimously.
2. Request to install persons with disabilities parking space at 1881 Avenue of the Cities. Committee discussed access appears to be more accessible from the back of the property and the ramp at the intersection allows access. Motion to deny by Mathias, seconded by Kurek. Motion carried unanimously.
3. Request to install a four way stop in place of a two way stop at 25th Street and 11th Avenue B. Committee discussed that the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) does not warrant a four way stop in this situation. Appears to be an enforcement issue. Motion to deny request by Mathias, seconded by Kurek. Motion carried unanimously.
4. Request to install a speed limit sign in the alley between 19th Street and Avenue of the Cities, behind 23rd Street and 23rd Street A. Committee discussed the City generally does not place signs in alleys. Motion to deny by Mathias, seconded by Kurek. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion to adjourn by Kurek, seconded by Mathias. Motion carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 1:46 p.m.
