East Moline Board of Zoning Appeals discusses ongoing projects

The City of East Moline Board of Zoning Appeals met at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Here are the meeting minutes as provided by the East Moline Board of Zoning Appeals:

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

The East Moline Board of Zoning Appeals has received a request from JOSEPH COLLINS of GREAT RIVER PROPERTIES to hold a public hearing for the purpose of considering a variance to the Zoning Ordinance for property described as Tracts 2, 3, 4 and 5 of Sublots 4 and 5 in Lot 7 of LeClaire’s Reserve in the City of East Moline, County of Rock Island, Illinois. The property is generally located in the 300 Block of 12th Avenue in the City of East Moline, Illinois.

If granted, the requested variation to the permitted height would allow for the construction of a 10-story 110’ tall hotel building and 5-story apartment buildings on the subject property overlooking the Mississippi River.

Sketches detailing the above-described variance request are available for public inspection during regular business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the City of East Moline Engineering and Maintenance Facility, 1200 – 13th Avenue, East Moline, Illinois

Prior to forming a decision and in accordance with the statutes pertaining thereto, it is hereby announced that a public hearing will be held on September 1, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 915 16th Avenue, East Moline, Illinois.
