Hampton Township Board of Trustees purchases police vehicle

The Hampton Township Board of Trustees met Oct. 3 to approve purchase of police vehicle.

Here are the meeting's minutes, as provided by the board:

The regular meeting of the charter township of Hampton board of trustees was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by the supervisor in the boardroom of the Hampton Township administrative offices.

The Pledge of allegiance was given to the flag.

The invocation was read and a moment of silence observed.

Present: Klass, Wisniewski, Hugo, Esterhai, Samyn, Foret, Wright

Absent: None

Also present: Hewitt, Weiler, Vandenboom, Benchley & 6 people in audience

Motion by Hugo seconded by Wisniewski that he minutes of the September 19, 2016 regular meeting be approved as printed and that the reading of the minutes be waived. Motion carried.

Communications:

There were no communications.

Open to the public:

No one addressed the board.

Unfinished business:

Motion by Hugo seconded by Wisniewski to award the tree removal bid to Weiler Tree service at a cost of $2,475.00.

Ayes: Hugo, Wisniewski, Esterhal, Klass, Samyn, Wright, Foret

Nays: None

Motion carried.

New business:

Motion by Hugo seconded by foret to approve the purchase of a 2017 Ford inceptor police vehicle with a $14,000 grant from USDA being used toward the purchase of $30,584.00.

Ayes: Hugo, Foret, Klass, Wisniewski, Esterhai, Samyn, Wright

Nays: None

Motion carried.

Motion by Klass seconded by Esterhai that the following 2016 budget adjustments be approved:

Ayes: Klass, Esterhal, Hugo, Wisniewski, Samyn, Foret, Wright

Nays: None

Motion carried.

Motion by Wisniewski seconded by Klass to approve the purchase of eight (8) sets of turn out gear for the Fire department from Front line services in the amount of $25,315.00.

Ayes: Wisniewski, Klass, Hugo, Esterhal, Samyn, Wright, Foret

Nays: None

Motion carried.

Motion by Hugo seconded by Klass to approve the upgrades to pump station 1 &2 to redirect the SCADA system at a cost of $18,345.00.

Ayes: Hugo, Klass, Wisnlewski, Esterhal, Samyn, Wright, Foret

Nays: None

Motion carried.

Motion by Hugo seconded by Foret to approve the intergovernmental fire equipment agreement with the City of Bay City for the Joint purchase of a fire aerial apparatus.

Ayes: Hugo, Foret, Klass, Wisniewski, Samyn, Wright

Nays: Esterhal

Motion carried.

Attorney report:

Hewitt had no report.

Engineer report:

Bartow was not present.

Standing committee reports:

Motion by Hugo seconded by Wisnlewski to receive the planning commission minutes of September 8, 2016 and the board of appeals minutes of September 22, 2016. Motion carried.

Trustees: Estarhal addressed the budget adjustment for computer software for the building department. Klass addressed the township equipment for personal use policy; and also asked for an update on the nature trail grant.

Supervisor - addressed hall roof finished today.

Possibility of lowering the ceiling in the hall and replacing windows and redoing the flat roof over part of the hall. Possibility of an ATV ordinance for the township. Phragmites sprating began today. DNR looking to eliminate the "no wake" zones on the Saginaw River.
