A recent visit to Mercer County by Rep. Norine Hammond and Illinois State Representative Daniel Swanson included attendance at the Mercer County Soil and Water Conservation District Annual Meeting. The event featured a demonstration focused on pond health, where the natural resource team used a technique to collect fish for educational purposes. "After collecting 40-50 fish they came over to the shore to discuss each fish specifies and the health of the fish," said Rep. Swanson.

Following this event, Rep. Swanson traveled to Roseville for the Warren County 4-H livestock auction. At this event, he acquired Cailyn Nelson’s Hereford heifer among other livestock offered by 32 participating 4-H members. The auction saw strong support from attendees, benefiting the young participants.

The evening also featured a rodeo as part of the fair activities, providing an opportunity for community engagement and interaction with friends. "Great job Warren County committee and 4-H club leaders," commented Rep. Swanson.
