The East Moline School District 37 Board of Education met Nov. 14 to dismiss staff.

Minutes

I. Call To Order

The meeting was called to order by President, Janet Neff at 6:30 p.m. Mrs. Neff asked everyone to state their name at the beginning of open session.

II. Roll Call

Present: Killam, Neff, Westbrook-Carpenter, Green, VanSpeybroeck Absent: Betsworth, Anderson

Administration: Kristin Humphries, Superintendent

Staff: 0 Media: 0 Visitors: 0

Mrs. Neff stated that the Board of Education would be going into Executive Session for the reason below.

III. Executive Session

In accordance with Chapter 5, Act 120, Section 2, of the Illinois Open Meetings Act, an Executive Session will be held to discuss:

The discipline or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1).

Motion by Killam, seconded by VanSpeybroeck to adjourn to closed session. Ayes: Neff, Killam, Westbrook-Carpenter, VanSpeybroeck, Green Nays: None Absent: Betsworth, Anderson Time: 6:31 p.m. Motion passed by roll call vote.

Rob Anderson entered the room at 6:32 p.m.

IV. Return to Open Session

Motion by Green, seconded by VanSpeybroeck to return to open session. Ayes: Neff, Killam, Anderson, Westbrook-Carpenter, VanSpeybroeck, Green Nays: None Absent: Betsworth Motion passed by voice vote. Time: 6:37 p.m.

V. Action as Result of Executive Session

Motion by Killam, seconded by Westbrook-Carpenter, to adopt the resolution for dismissal for cause of Molly Savage, certified teacher at Glenview Middle School. Ayes: Neff, Killam, Anderson, Westbrook-Carpenter, VanSpeybroeck, Green Nays: None Absent: Betsworth Motion passed by roll call vote.

VI. Adjournment

Motion by VanSpeybroeck, seconded by Killam to adjourn. Ayes: Neff, Killam, Anderson, Westbrook-Carpenter, VanSpeybroeck, Green Nays: None Absent: Betsworth Motion passed by roll Voice vote. Time: 6:38 p.m.
