Republican Kim Shuda, campaigning for a second term as trustee for South Rock Island, wants to continue bringing fresh energy to the position and serving with integrity, according to the township’s recent candidate website profile.

Posting a message to her followers and supporters recently via Facebook, Shuda sought to spread the word about her experience and enthusiasm.

“Kim is best equipped to successfully assist the residents in her township to attain a higher quality of life as she strives to promote tenacity in the face of adversity,” the Facebook message said, adding that the candidate considers the position a privilege.

First elected to the board in 2013, Shuda conveyed a desire to serve constituents in balance with financial accountability, principles which she applies to her own business. A graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic with a bachelor’s and doctoral degrees, Shuda, 50, has operated a practice in Rock Island since 1993.

“Along with a strong passion to serve my community, I am capable of bringing fresh and positive perspectives while serving with honesty and integrity,” she told the Dispatch-Argus QCOnline regarding her reasons for running. “I believe that serving people while remaining financially responsible go hand in hand.”

Describing herself as a team player, Shuda has pledged to facilitate efficient distribution of township funds, according to the Dispatch-Argus.

“Our … team is poised to serve the needs of South Rock Island Township with new energy and enthusiasm,” she told the publication. “We would appreciate your vote on April 9.”
