Kewanee Public Library District Board met March 13.
Here is the minutes as provided by the Board:
Members Present: Irv Kelman, President; Sue Busenbark, Vice President; Becky Ault, Treasurer; Norma Good, Secretary; Vanessa Fite, and Barb Koller. Absent: Mike Perva. Also Present: Barbara Love, Director; Ann Turnbull, Head of Information Services; Sara Billiet, Head of Youth Services; Sarah Arnold, Circulation Services; Doug Kindle, Technology Associate. Community members: John Sayers.
Irv Kelman, President, called the meeting to order at 4:00. No public comments.
Secretary minutes for February 13, 2017, were reviewed. Busenbark made a motion to approve the minutes and Koller seconded the motion. RESOLVED, THAT THE MINUTES FOR FEBRUARY 13, 2017, KEWANEE PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING BE ACCEPTED. Motion passed.
The budget was presented and discussed. A motion was made by Ault and seconded by Good to approve the payment of payroll in the amount of $30,196.29, and bills in the amount of $27,088.49. RESOLVED, THAT THE PAYMENT OF THE PAYROLL AND BILLS AS STATED BE ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED. Motion passed.
Ault moved and Busenbark seconded that the 2015-2016 Financial Audit be accepted. RESOLVED, THAT THE 2015-2016 AUDIT BE ACCEPTED. Motion passed.
Director Love presented the Department Reports. April 4 is the election for board trustees and new board members will be seated at the June meeting. Further discussion of the Library Foundation was discussed. The Step Ladder Tutoring Dollar General Grant has been submitted. Pushing the Limits grant has been enthusiastically received and is proceeding with Alan Abbott and Isaac Stewart from Black Hawk East. Youth Services had 237 patrons attending 12 events during the month. The Spring Newsletter is ready to be printed.

RAILS: Business as usual.
Friends of the Library: Begin again in March.
Statistics: Covered the month’s and year’s statistics, including circulation, resources, reference questions, and computer usage.
Fundraising: Donation in honor of mother Mrs. Grubb, who enjoyed using the library.
New Business: Correspondence: None Announcements: Board elections April 4. Seating of new members June 12. Check out the new lamp downstairs in honor of John Sayers. Next board meeting is April 10, 2017, at 4 p.m.
