Alleman High School's Nathan Graves has had a stellar season as a three-sport athlete for the Pioneers and can now add another accolade to cap off his 2016-2017 campaign: Quad-City Athlete of the Year finalist.
Only 12 Rock Island-area athletes are named as finalists for the yearly honor.
Though the senior has signed on to compete in track and field at Montana University, Graves didn't neglect his senior season at Alleman to focus on the future. He finished third in the Illinois 1A state meet in discus and seventh in triple jump, and he qualified in long jump.
Graves was also voted honorable mention for the Illinois All-State basketball team by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association.
