The Chief noted that this weekend will be the test the band at Chief's will be facing west on the lot. On 7-15 Saturday from 12pm to 10pm with a 1-3 man acoustical band.not amplified (from 7-10pm only) is the event proposed by Barrelhouse. Committee was in agreement with the request and the items would be placed on the July 5th COW agenda. The Chief noted that he is working on the policy for future committee consideration.
Reconfiguring Hibb's Park design was the next item for discussion. Jim explained that he has received several complaints about traffic, mud on the streets and general safety of the players while using the ball diamond at the park. He noted that Playground and Rec has discussed the reconfiguration for more than two years; at the 8-4-15 meeting a quote to install new fence was proposed (if the diamond were to be reconfigured) at a cost of $3,866. However no action was ever taken. P&R position is the decision to change the park configuration would be a city council decision. Alderman York asked how much do we want to pay to reconfigure the park? He suggested to fix the drainage problem and put no parking in front of the door (to the Triangle). Alderman Lohse suggested consider Gauley Field or Kathy Hall suggested the complex.Alderman Lohse added that he thinks safety is really the biggest issue. There is not much room for parking at Hibb's. Committee would like to involve Little League and P&R for input as well. No action was taken and another combined meeting will take place in the next several weeks tentatively July 26" at 4:30pm.
The final agenda item was discussion on installing a 12" asphalt track at Gauley Field. P&R has agreed to split the cost and the total price would be $26,390 from Tri-City Blacktop. The city would be responsible for restoration of any damage to the grass from the trucks. Chairman Trulson would like to look at the Cost of a rubber track however it was noted that the committee was in agreement to support P&R. No action was taken.
