Village of Hampton Board of Trustees met June 19.

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

Be it remembered, that there came and was held a Special Meeting of The Board of Trustees of The Village of Hampton, Illinois in The Village Hall of said Village:


Members present: 

President Richard Vershaw

Trustee Heintz

Trustee Van Dieren 

Trustee Goodman 

Trustee Adams

Members absent: 

Trustee Hamilton

Trustee King

Others present: Cindy Wermuth from Missman Inc.; Nick Stottler;

President Vershaw called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Clerk Bergeson called the roll noting a quorum present.

A meeting was called to order to accept the bids for the 3" Avenue Project. One bid was turned in to Clerk Bergeson on 6/19/17. The bid was from Brandt Construction Co. in the amount of $108,034.60 and the Alternate $31,145.00. The bid was responsive to the bidding documents. The Engineer's estimate was $92,641.60 and Alternate $13,922.00. The low bid is over 10% above the engineer's estimate. The Village will do some of the work themselves to help bring that cost down and to rebid the Alternate work next year.

Motion by Trustee Heintz to accept the base bid with Village of Hampton doing some of the work and to rebid Alternate, Seconded by Trustee Adams. Roll call vote as follows: Heintz, Adams, Van Dieren and Goodman: "Aye'. Hamilton and King: Absent. Motion carried.

Closed Session: it was motioned by President Vershaw to adjourn into Closed Session to discuss litigation. Motioned by Adams, second by Goodman. Roll call vote as follows: Adams, Goodman, Heintz and Van Dieren: "Aye”. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned to closed Session at 7:30 pm.
