City of Silvis Finance Committee met October 16.
Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:
Chairman Lohse called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm and noted a quorum was present for one agenda item.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Village of Milan, Cities of Moline, East Moline and Rock Island and with Rock Island County. The IGA is for the purpose of hiring a Consulting firm to prepare an Enterprise Zone application. The current zone has been in place 20 years and is due to expire March 31, 2018. The City of Silvis cost for the application preparation is $4,519 and it should come from Economic Development. Jim said that the timing of the award would be sometime in August 2018.
Committee was in agreement to move forward with the request and the item would be placed on the 10-17-17 COW agenda for consideration.
There were no other agenda items and the meeting was adjourned at 6:10 pm.
