City of Silvis Park, Building, and Grounds Committee met October 16.
Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:
Chairman Trulson called the meeting to order at 6:15 pm and noted a quorum was present for one agenda item.
The roof on the McGehee Center is in need of replacement. Jim Grafton passed around pictures of the roof and all agreed that it is time. Jim said that he has an estimate to replace the roof with same for $8,900; however he is recommending that we put a metal roof on it just like all the other facilities. This would be a lifetime roof and would blend in with the shelters. Jim said he contacted four roofers and was only able to get one response from Toohey Construction for a cost of $19,518.64. The material would be purchased from Anchor Lumber. Jim noted that there is $44,318 available in the McGehee line item 211. Alderwoman Unsicker would like to know what the life expectancy of the metal roof is. Alderwoman Hall would like to look into gutter guards as well.
Committee was in agreement to move the item to the COW agenda 1017-17 for consideration.
There were no other agenda items and the meeting was adjourned at 6:24 pm.
