The Rock Island County Republican Party (Rico GOP) will hold its annual Christmas Party on Dec. 9 and has lined up a full slate of other events that will be coming up in December.
The annual Rico GOP Christmas Party, a family event where children are welcome, will run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at 500 16th Ave. in Rock Island. the group said in its newsletter.
Those attending can bring an ornament to put on the tree and should bring a dish to share. The newsletter said attendees with last names beginning with A through G should bring a meat dish, H through N a salad, O through T a potato dish and U through Z a dessert.
In the newsletter, Rico GOP also is reminding candidates running for office under established political parties must submit their original nomination papers to the County Office Building, 1504 Third Ave. in Rock Island, by Dec. 4.
In other upcoming events, the Republican Women of Rock Island County (RWRIC) will be meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Denny’s at 2601 52nd Ave. in Moline. The meeting will begin with a social hour before turning its focus to a guest speaker; men are welcome.
