City of Colona Public Works Committee met January 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

Call to Order: 5:00 p.m.

Roll Call: Alderman Swemline, Feliksiak, Jones were present

Staff Present: R. Crew Public Works Director

J. Nicewanner CSFP Manager

Public Comments: None

1. Janelle reported that the people from living lands would like to rent the farm house at CSFP from March 13, 2018 to April 28, 2018 for $2,100.00 plus a damage deposit of $ 1,000.00

2. She also reported that she is all set for the outdoor shows, RV shows, and the bridal fair.

3. Discussed food pantry agreement.

4. Rick ordered 75 tons of salt. Received 25 tons of salt today, will get the remaining 50 tons tomorrow.

5. A vehicle hit one of our snow plows; the person was ticketed.

6. We have had a few water lines freeze. We have also had a few water meters break more than one time. The committee wonders if the City should charge the people who have had more than 1 water meter break because the problem causing the breakage has not been fixed. The committee feels that repeat freeze- ups are the owner's responsibility.

7. The Building inspection of 309-7th street revealed that the foundation is deteriorating. This needs to be fixed before being sold. The house is empty.

8. Had a water leak in level acres at 1-80 equipment which used 30-40k gallons of water.

9. There was a water leak at willowhaven. The resident called City HAll because they could not get a response from Jennifer. The City Shut-off the water. The next day Jennifer called to yell at the City for turning the water off.

Adjourn:

The meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
