City of Silvis Public Safety and Finance Committee met April 3.

Members present: Rick Lohse, Kathy Hall, Bob Rock well, Tony Trulson, Joshua Dyer, Caryn Unsicker
Also Present: Larry York, John E Winters, City Clerk Jim Nelson
Alderman Rick Lohse called the meeting to order at 5:50pm and announced the purpose of this meeting is to discuss purchase of Elite Fire software and 3 computers.
John Winters explained he needed a better way to keep records at the Fire Department and felt the software program offered by Elite Fire was the best fit for the Silvis Fire Department. John explained that the initial cost of the software is $6,450 with an annual renewal of $4,500 per year after that. Webinar training is available.
Next item for discussion was the purchase of 3 laptop computers. Clerk Nelson recommended a savings could be realized if the 2 computers did not have to be mobile. John agreed that he only needed one computer to be mobile. Alderman Lohse asked how much did John need to pay for the computers. John Winters answered $4,500.
The Finance Committee recommended this item be put on the 17 April 2018 agenda for consideration and the funding for this would come from a variety of line items.
