City of New Boston Council met  March 28.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

The City of New Boston met in Regular session March 28,2018. Mayor DeFrieze opened the meeting at 7:00pm. Alderman present were Stineman, Schreurs, Marston, and Ramer. Alderman absent were Long and Fourdyce. Police Chief Mike also attended the meeting. Minutes were taken by Lacey Schreurs.

No one was present for Public Forum.

Marston made the motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Ramer, all aye votes, motion carried.

Ramer made the motion to approve the bills, seconded Stineman. Roll call votes as follows: Stineman-aye, Schreurs-aye, Marston-aye, and Ramer-aye. Motion carried.

Marston made the motion to approve the bills from the OSLAD grant, seconded by Ramer, all aye votes, motion carried.

Mike informed the Council that all the necessary supplies for the electrical at the campground has been ordered. He told them they were now putting in the water at the campground. He asked if they could rent the skid loader for 1 more month, he was told yes as long as he could get it for $2000 again.

Ramer made the motion to have the Ball Diamond appraised, seconded by Marston. Roll call votes as follows: Stineman-aye, Schreurs-aye, Marston-aye, and Ramer-aye. Motion carried.

Mayor DeFrieze informed the Council that we could get a dumpster on April 16, 2018 for Spring clean-up. Ramer made the motion to get the dumpster, seconded by Stineman, all aye votes, motion carried.

Mayor DeFrieze informed the Council that Valley would be coming March 29, 2018 to check on the showers as the grant director doesn’t believe the showers are ADA accessible. Mayor DeFrieze spoke with Jackson’s Disposal on how to get dispose of the fish remains from the campground. They informed him that if the City had a freezer to store them in then Jackson’s would dispose of the for no extra charge. They asked to figure out a way to properly secure the freezer so no one could get hurt on it.

Ramer has been checking into prices on picnic tables for the campground, Mayor asked him to also check prices on ADA accessible picnic tables.

Marston got a quote on a new storm siren, Mayor is going to see if there are any grants available.

Ramer made the motion to have the Mayor get cleaning supplies for the Fitness Center and City Hall, seconded by Stineman, all aye votes, motion carried.

Marston made the motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Ramer all aye votes, motion carried.
