Kewanee Public Library District Board met April 9.
Here is the minutes as provided by the board:
Members Present: Sue Busenbark, President; Barb Koller, Vice President; Becky Ault, Treasurer; Norma Good, Secretary; John Sayers, and Ruth Kapacinskas. Absent: Vanessa Fite. Also present: Barbara Love, Director; Sarah Arnold, Head of Circulation Services; Ann Turnbull, Head of Information Services; Sara Billiet, Head of Youth Services; and Doug Kindle, Technology Associate.
Busenbark, President, called the meeting to order at 4:00. No public comments.
Secretary minutes for March 12, 2018, were reviewed. Kapacinskas made a motion to approve the minutes and Koller seconded the motion. RESOLVED, THAT THE MINUTES FOR MARCH 12, 2018, KEWANEE PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING BE ACCEPTED. Motion passed.
The budget was discussed. A motion was made by Ault and seconded by Good to approve the payment of payroll in the amount of $33,367.47, and bills in the amount of $20,357.47. RESOLVED, THAT THE PAYMENT OF THE PAYROLL AND BILLS BE ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED. Motion passed.
Director Love presented the Department Reports. Good programs celebrating the Illinois Bicentennial were announced: April 9, May 25, August 10, and November 25. Summary of the Public Library Association Conference was shared. Thanks for all the assistance during the time our custodian was off work. Music at the Carnegie will be Saturday, October 27, 2018—Save the date.
New Business:
Presentations on Trustee Facts File Chapter 8: Human Resources by Ruth Kapacinskas and Chapter 10: Budgeting and Financial Management Correspondence by John Sayers. Both were very well done and covered both chapters fully.
Finance Committee set dates to meet May 7. 2018-2019 Budget will be presented in May. NonResidence Card Acceptance Program will be approved.
Correspondence: Three thank-you notes were read for plants sent by staff. These were from Sue Busenbark, Candi and Dean Corn, and Ralf Enemark.
