Village of Alpha Board of Trustee met April 2.
Here is the minutes as provided by the board:
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kernan with the following board members present – Mike Petrovich, Jason Lambin and Tena Anseeuw. Absent were Alan Wendt and Ron Medley.
Comments of the floor: The AlWood Girl Scouts came to discuss a new sign they are fundraising for the AlWood Elementary School and wanted to find out if they needed any permits from the village.
Tena Anseeuw made a motion to approve the minutes from the March 5, 2018 meeting and Mike Petrovich seconded it. The motion carried with all ayes.
Dennis Shannon made a motion to approve the bills for the month of March and Jason Lambin seconded it. The motion carried with all ayes.
Steve Norberg gave the treasurer’s report which showed the balance of $379,109 in all accounts. Included in that balance is 175,689 in the general fund, $71,941 in motor/fuel and $131,479 in water/sewer. There were only the normal receipts and bills for the month. Tena Anseeuw made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report and Dennis Shannon seconded it. The motion carried with all ayes.
Jeff Kessinger gave the Public Works and Police report. The water and sewer usage was at an average usage. Flushed hydrants at Skona Lake Addition. Read meters for the first quarter. Installed a new handicap parking in front of the chiropractor office. The police report with 5 complaints. Mike Petrovich made a motion to accept the Public Works and Police report and Dennis Shannon seconded it. The motion carried with all ayes.
Community Development: ACT is starting Grub at the Gazebo on May 3rd.
In Old Business: A Public Safety passed the vote!! American Legion Lease Agreement is still in the works. Recycling bin: Please do not put plastic bags or computer parts or printers in.
In New Business: 2018-2019 Budget meeting will be April 4th. Please file your statement of economic interest by May 1st. Liquid green will be starting this week. Discussed summer help for Jeff. Discussed ideas for a apartment complex and playground on the west side of town.
Tena Anseeuw made a motion to adjourn and seconded by Dennis Shannon. The motion carried with all ayes.
