Rep. Tony McCombie (R-Savanna) is looking for paid interns to work on her 2018 re-election campaign against Democratic challenger Joan Padilla.

“Interns will engage with communities across Northwestern Illinois, offering the campaign with key insight into issues facing the 71st District,” according to an advertisement McCombie posted to her Facebook page. “Interns will have the opportunity to connect with civic leaders and evoke positive change with the 71st District of Illinois.”

Candidates must be between the ages of 16 and 26 and capable of working flexible hours. Interested candidates must also have their own transportation and commit to a schedule of at least 100 hours of fieldwork and other responsibilities.

The campaign is also accepting applications for volunteer positions.

McCombie is the first member of her family to earn a college degree and has made education a key component of her campaign platform.
