The Hammond-Henry Hospital in Geneseo will host a breast cancer awareness event titled “Turn Up the Pink” on Thursday, October 16, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Attendees are directed to use the North Entrance for access.
The event aims to provide information about breast health services available at the hospital and will introduce attendees to the new Automated Breast Ultrasound System (ABUS). This equipment, acquired with funds raised during the annual HHH Celebrity Dinner earlier this year, serves as an additional screening tool, particularly beneficial for women with dense breast tissue. Additional testing equipment will also be displayed.
Katie Orwig, Foundation Manager at Hammond-Henry Hospital, said: “If you have never had a mammogram, now is the time to come in and learn about what to expect during the exam.”
A flower bar will be set up for guests to create their own bouquets in exchange for a free-will donation benefiting women’s health services within the hospital’s Imaging Department. The flower bar is provided by Ali (Craig) Spooner, owner of The Backyard Farm. Complimentary pink-themed non-alcoholic beverages and snacks will be served, and free BINGO games are scheduled in the hospital dining room.
