Shopping local and investing in our urban core helps build our distinct personality. Independent We Stand is a movement of independently owned businesses across the country dedicated to educating their communities about the importance-and the benefits-of "buying local."
The annual Independent We Stand road trip celebrates Main Streets across the country by highlighting the organizations and businesses that define them. This year the group embarked on a Great American Mississippi River Road Trip, visiting cities located along the river, to learn what makes each community unique and what binds the Mississippi River region together.
In March the group made a stop in Davenport and spent some time getting to know our small businesses and caught up with Kyle Carter, Executive Director of the Downtown Davenport Partnership, a division of the Quad Cities Chamber. See the highlights of the visit by watching the video below:
