New City of New Boston Council met Aug. 22.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

The City of New Boston met in regular session August 22, 2018. Mayor DeFrieze opened the meeting at 7:00 pm. Alderman present were Schreurs, Marston, Ramer, and Fourdyce. Police Chief Mike and Campground Host Natalie attended the meeting as well. Minutes were taken by Lacey Schreurs.

No one was present for Public Forum.

Marston made the motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Ramer, all aye votes, motion carried.

Fourdyce made the motion to pay the bills, seconded by Schreurs, all aye votes, motion carried.

Marston made the motion to approve the OSLAD bills, seconded by Fourdyce, all aye votes, motion carried.

Mayor told the Council that everything is right on track for Fish Fry.

Mayor let the Council know that the Eagle Watch should be done by the end of the week. The work on the hiking path should start Monday.

Natalie told the Council that the Campground was full for Fish Fry.

Mike informed the Council that the new lights at the ball diamond are all installed. They also got the man hole by the car wash fixed.

Mike told the Council that he could get 6 trees for $2400.

Ramer made the motion to purchase the trees for $2400, seconded by Fourdyce. Roll call votes as follows: Schreurs-aye, Marston-aye, Ramer-aye, and Fourdyce-aye. Motion carried.

Mike also told the Council that Joy has an old Fire Truck for sale. He is going to see if the Fire Department wants to go halves on buying it with the City.

Fourdyce made the motion to give $1750 towards the purchase of the Fire Truck, seconded by Marston. Roll call votes as follows: Schreurs-aye, Marston-aye, Ramer-aye, and Fourdyce-aye. Motion carried.

Ramer made the motion to pay for the new John Deere lawn mower out of the Cemetery Savings account, seconded by Schreurs. Roll call votes as follows: Schreurs-aye, Marston-aye, Ramer-aye, and Fourdyce-aye. Motion carried.

Marston made the motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Ramer, all aye votes, motion carried.
