The BOE received a thank you card from Gina Escontrias for the memorial plant sent during the loss of her mother.

IV. Public Comment

At this time, the President of the Board of Education will recognize visitors and ask if any citizen of the community is interested in speaking to members of the Board of Education. Time allowed will generally be limited to three minutes for each individual, unless waived by the President. All individuals who wish to address the Board of Education must sign up in advance. The President may limit the opportunity to address the Board in cases where a person has previously addressed the Board on the same or related subject. Issues brought to the Board prior to being channeled through the proper chain of command will be referred back to the appropriate level.

VI. Consent Agenda

1. Approval of Minutes

It is recommended that the minutes from the September 24, 2018 Public Hearing Budget Meeting and the regular board meeting be approved.

2. Approval of Treasurer's Report

It is recommended that the Treasurer’s Report for September 2018 be approved subject to audit.

3. Approval of Accounts Payable

It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the payment of bills listed, received during the month of September 2018, to be paid during the month of October 2018, and quick pays during the month of September 2018.

4. Approval of Destruction of Audio Tapes from Executive Session

It is recommended the Board of Education approve destruction of audio tapes from the Executive Session on December 19, 2016.

5. Approval of Personnel Change

a. Personnel– Classified – Resignation

Michael Mueller has resigned as Track Coach at Glenview Middle School, effective September 24, 2018.

Brent Harper has resigned as Head Football Coach at Glenview Middle school, effective October 20, 2018.

b. Personnel– Classified – Employment

Hannah Kupferschmid has been employed as Preschool Family Educator, effective October 18, 2018.

c. Personnel– Classified – Retirement

Brenda Stickler has submitted a letter of resignation, for the purpose of retirement, effective November 9, 2018. Ms. Stickler has been employed as a custodian for thirteen years and is currently assigned to Ridgewood Elementary.

d. Personnel– Classified – Leave of Absence

May Turner has requested an extension of her unpaid leave, from September 27, 2018 through October 29, 2018. Ms. Turner works as Administrative Assistant to the Director of Maintenance/Operations.

e. Personnel– Licensed – Leave of Absence

Amanda Harms has requested unpaid leave for medical reasons from September 28, 2018 through December 21, 2018.

6. Other Financial Reports

Enclosed with the Agenda Information is the September 2018 Activity Fund Report, the Budget Summary Expense Report, & the Budget Summary Revenue Report for September 2018.

XII. Executive Session

In accordance with Chapter 5, Act 120, Section 2, of the Illinois Open Meetings Act, an Executive Session will be held to discuss:

Litigation, when an action against, affecting or on behalf of the particular public body has been filed and is pending before a court or administrative tribunal, or when the public body finds that an action is probable or imminent, in which case the basis for the finding shall be recorded and entered into the minutes of the closed meetings. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(11).

Collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2).

The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body to determine its

validity. However, a meeting to consider an increase in compensation to a specific employee of a public body that is subject to the Local Government Wage increase Transparency Act may not be closed and shall be open to the public and posted and held in accordance with this Act 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)

Discussion of minutes of meeting lawfully closed under the Open Meetings Act, whether for purposes of approval by the body of the minutesor semi-annual review of the minutes as mandated by Section 2.06. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(21).

1. Approval of a settlement agreement regarding the reimbursement of classroom expenses and the resolution of the EMEA's unfair labor practice charge.
