Three Augustana Vikings women’s tennis players were recently named to the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) all-conference team, capping an undefeated regular season that included a CCIW tournament title.
For the second straight season, senior Caitlyn Schaffer was a first-team all-conference pick and was also CCIW’s Most Valuable Player for the second straight time after finishing 11-4 in singles and 15-2 in doubles. On the season, she won the CCIW title at number one singles and teamed with fellow senior Madeline Lombardi to also claim the number one doubles title.
Sophomore Annie Timm was a second team CCIW pick after bagging the number two singles title and teaming with junior Zeana Badawi to win the number two doubles crown. Timm was also tabbed as the Championship MVP, finishing the season at 15-3 in singles and 12-2 in doubles.
Finally, Badawi was named second team all-conference for the second straight year, finishing the year at 15-3 in number three singles. At the CCIW tournament, she also finished third in number three singles.
Vikings coach Jon Miedema was named the Coach of the Year after guiding the Vikings to a perfect 9-0 record in dual meets and the third CCIW title in the last four years.
