Open tryouts for the Austin Bold FC (ABFC) 2019 soccer season are slated to be held Saturday, Dec. 15 and Sunday, Dec. 16 in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Males 16 and over are encouraged to audition at TBK Bank Sports Complex under the watchful eye of ABFC head coach Marcelo Serrano and his team of scouts.
Registration for the event is required and costs $170, which includes two training shirts and refreshments during the session. The tryout will consist of each participant playing in up to five 30-minute, 11-on-11 matches.
Thus far, ABFC has signed 11 players for its inaugural United Soccer League (USL) season, and selected players from the upcoming tryouts may be asked to attend a preseason combine tentatively scheduled for early 2019 in Texas.
Earlier this year, ABFC broke ground on the new 5,036-seat Bold soccer stadium, which stands next to the Grand Plaza at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) and is the first soccer-specific stadium in central Texas.
Founded in 2018, Austin Bold FC is set to compete in a USL Division II league sanctioned by the U.S. Soccer Federation. The league comprises more than 30 teams spread across the United States and Canada.
