Adario Jones 'Most Outstanding Wrestler' at North Central Invitational

Augustana junior wrestler Adarios Jones was named Most Outstanding Wrestler at the North Central Invitational held Dec. 8 in Naperville.

In leading the Vikings to an eighth-place finish in the 14-team tournament, and running his individual record to a perfect 13-0 for the season, Jones won two matches in the 285-pound class by technical fall, another by pin and the championship match by a 19-9 major decision.

Host North Central won the event with 163 points, while Olivet and Concordia placed second and third overall with 118.5 and 109 points, respectively.

According to the school’s website, sophomore Daniel Terronez also starred for Augustana, finishing second in the 149 pound class with a 4-1 overall record to improve to 12-6 on the season.  

Augustana and Head Coach Tony Willaert and his Vikings return to action on Dec. 14, with a dual meet battle against Cornell in Mt. Vernon, Iowa.
