Giovanine's Vikings bring him to 440th career win

Augustana men’s basketball coach Grey Giovanine notched his 400th career victory on Dec. 29th, when his Vikings rolled past Washington University 77-63 to improve to 11-1 on the season.

Seniors Nolan Ebel and Chrishawn Orange led the way for the Vikings at the Carver Center, combining for 45 points on blistering 14-of-21 shooting to go along with seven rebounds.  

As a team, Augustans shot .387 (24-62), while their defense held Washington to just 2 of 14 (.143) shooting from 3-point range. The Vikings also outrebounded Washington 46 to 32, along with limiting its turnovers for the night to just 13.

According to the school’s website, since officially joining the 400 win club, Giovanine has led the fifth-ranked Vikings to back-to-back wins in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin to improve to 5-0 in conference.

For the year, Ebel leads Augustana in scoring at 16.9 points per game with Orange second at 12.7
