Analysis: Alwood administrators rank 270th in state for average pay

Administrators in Alwood Community Unit School District 225 earn an average of $107,171 per year, ranking 270th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Rock Island Today analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 0.9% lower than in 2014 and 2.8% lower than in 2009. District administrators make 0.1% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Henry County school district enrolled 395 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 132 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
