Hampton home prices fall in the first quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2017 in Hampton fell by $33,500 while total sales decreased by 33.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2017, there were four homes sold, with a median sale price of $85,000 - a 28.3% decrease over the $118,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were six homes sold in Hampton in the first quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Hampton for 2017 was $3,057.36. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,090.70. This marks an decrease of 1.1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 3.6%.
