Q1 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Mercer County?

There were five offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Mercer County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Rock Island Today.

The data shows that four men and one woman were released in Mercer County. The median age of the parolees was 37. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 54-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Robin E. Atchison. She was convicted of homicide in 2013 when she was 29 years old. She is now 35.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
