Q1 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Rock Island County?

There were 40 offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Rock Island County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Rock Island Today.

The data shows that 35 men and five women were released in Rock Island County. The median age of the parolees was 37. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018, and the oldest was a 63-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2012.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jamie L. Lopez. He was convicted of homicide in 1995 when he was 16 years old. He is now 40.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Rock Island County municipality.
