City of Colona Public Safety Committee met Oct. 21.

Chief advised the city ordinance for tobacco will need to be changed to reflect the new state law of under 21.
He also advised new state law will change the animal shelter requirements, new mandates require a fire alarm that will notify Henry County dispatch automatically. The city will have to obtain bids. Compliance is required by January 2020.
Alderman King made a motion to sell surplus squad cars. Alderman Shady-Dahl seconded the motion.

a Durango and a Charger will be sold by sealed bid. The sealed bids will be accepted until Nov 25, 2019 until 4:00 p.m. The bids will be opened that night at the council meeting and the highest bidder on each vehicle will be notified.
