City of Rock Island Beautification Commission met June 8.

Call to Order and Roll Call
Chair Bob Towler called the meeting to order at 5:10 PM and read the roll call.
Public Comment
There were no members of the public in attendance.
Approval of the Agenda
David VanLandegen moved to approve the agenda for June 8, 2020. Roy Plasschaert seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously on a vote of 5 to 0.
Approval of the Previous Meeting Minutes
Wanda Lambert moved to approve the minutes for December 16, 2019. Roy Plasschaert seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously on a vote of 5 to 0.

Bob Towler welcomed the commission’s newest member, Mr. Lloyd Davis, Sr.
The commission attempted to review a photo slideshow of nominees for the May Yard of the Month award, but due to most members not being able to see video on their phones, it was decided that staff would email the pdf of the slideshow to the members and their votes would be collected via an email back to staff.
Staff reminded the commission members that the 2020 Tell On Your Neighbor Awards media release is in June. Bob Towler suggested that the May Yard of the Month nominees that did not win be placed on the Tell On Your Neighbor Award nominee list. The commission agreed on a vote of 5 to 0.
The commission voted unanimously, on a vote of 5 to 0, to reelect Bob Towler as Chair and David Vanlandegen as Vice-Chair.

Chair Bob Towler asked for a motion to adjourn. David VanLandegen moved to adjourn. Todd Linscott seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously on a vote of 5 to 0 at 5:30 PM.
