FRYXELL GEOLOGY MUSEUM: Quad City Playwrights’ Festival calls for submissions

Fryxell Geology Museum recently issued the following announcement.

The Quad City Playwrights’ Festival now is accepting submissions for the annual festival, to be held virtually this year on May 15.

Submissions must be an original work, 10 minutes in length, a maximum of 10 pages, written by one individual who lives in the Quad Cities area or is an Augustana student or graduate. Scripts must be submitted by April 19.

No adaptions or excerpt scripts from larger works will be accepted. The script may be any genre.

As virtual plays have become an established medium, both scripts written to be performed online and those meant for the stage are welcomed.

A committee will select number of plays that will have an assigned a director and cast to present virtual readings starting at 1:30 p.m. May 15.

To enter, include a cover sheet with the playwright’s name, email address, and phone number. High school and college students should identify their schools. Quad Cities area playwrights should identify their cities of residence. Augustana alumni should indicate their years of graduation.
