Rock Island County Finance & Personnel Committee met March 8.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Finance and Personnel Committee of the Rock Island County Board will met at the above date and time in the County Board Chambers on the third floor of the County Office Building, Per section 7(e) of the State of Illinois Open Meetings Act, Members of the County Board may attend the meeting remotely, if they prefer. The public may attend in person or call in remotely to the meeting by dialing 312-626-6799 and entering Meeting ID: 942 592 50168 when prompted.

Call to order and roll call at 9:32 AM

Public Comment:

Chairman L. Moreno made three calls for public comment. There were no requests.

Reports to the Committee

Public Defender Hany Kouhry thanked the committee and the board for the support they have given his department.

Auditor April Palmer reported the external auditors will be on site March 14th. She updated that the new Paymerang accounts payable system is in the process of being set up. She stated there will be a new email for vendors. She expects the first payments in April. All office holders and department heads will have access to this email in hopes that any issues can be dealt with as they arise. She also shared that she’s been notified by IRTCC that there’s a possibility for her to have an accounting intern for the summer, at no cost to the county.

Treasurer Louisa Ewert stated that her monthly reports are in the packet and to please pay attention to the cover letter. She also stated that they have not received the monthly sales tax. She will make sure it is inserted when received.

County administrator Jim Grafton shared that they approved the agreement with the Skywalk Group last week and will be having their first call tomorrow.

• 5 ILCS 120/2(c) (11) – Litigation, when an action against, affecting or on behalf of the particular public body has been filed and is pending before a court or administrative tribunal, or when the public body finds that an action is probably or imminent, in which case the basisfor the finding shall be recorded and entered into the minutes of the closed meeting.
