Rock Island County Board Governance, Health and Administration Committee met Aug. 8.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

1. Call to order and roll call

2. Public Comment

3. Approval of the minutes from the July 11th , 2022 Governance, Health & Administration Committee Meeting

4. Reports to the Committee

5. Consider Updated Tobacco Ordinance Aligning with State Statute

6. Consider Proclamation Designating September as Suicide Awareness Month in Rock Island County

7. Consider Proclamation Designating September 15th through October 15th 2022 as Hispanic Heritage Month in Rock Island County

8. The Committee may enter into Closed Session per the following

▪ 5 ILCS 120/2(c) (1) – The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity.

▪ 5 ILCS 120/2(c) (2) – Collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees.

▪ 5 ILCS 120/2(c) (11) – Litigation, when an action against, affecting or on behalf of the particular public body has been filed and is pending before a court or administrative tribunal, or when the public body finds that an action is probably or imminent, in which case the basis for the finding shall be recorded and entered into the minutes of the closed meeting.

9. Consider Action as necessary based on closed session

10. Review of pending/proposed state legislation & policy matters affecting Rock Island County

11. Committee member opportunity for brief comment (no decisions will be made)

12. Adjourn
