The Illinois Republican Party recently featured the candidacy of Marian Stallings for County Clerk.

Rock Island County GOP Chairman Glen Evans touted that Stallings is "rock solid in her support of Election Integrity."

"Marian has worked as a volunteer the past two years with a strong local advocacy group for Free and Fair Elections known as Illinois Freedom Alliance," Evans said in the IL GOP’s weekly memo. "She has also been a member of the Republican Women of Rock Island County since 2014 and an Officer since 2015 where she during her time as Treasurer embarked upon a huge effort to bring the Republican Women to its current status of financially fit when she took charge of fundraising and raised enough funds to keep them secure throughout the unfortunate lockdown of the pandemic.”

Evans emphasized that Stallings "will bring great dividends to Election Integrity to Save Illinois," and will be the "nexus point of cooperation between grassroots Patriots" and his role as the county's GOP chairman. “All voters in Rock Island County would benefit from the leadership of Marian Stallings and she has great appeal to our Black, Latino, and Asian communities," he added. "As a realtor, she has the unique ability to be invited into the homes of her constituents and provide them with the unique perspective of how the Office of the Clerk affects their daily lives. Marian also has a great professional background in Customer Service and the County Clerk’s office in Rock Island County can certainly use an upgrade in customer service. Marian brings the private sector management experience to make the upgrades in customer service as the office has been a political extension of the Democrat Party for too many years. It is time for a change and for the county clerk’s office to be professionally managed without a political agenda.”

On her website, Stallings, who began volunteering with the Rock Island County Republicans eight years ago, notes her history as a voter.

“When I registered to vote in my 20s, I was asked how I wanted to register. I wanted to make a difference with my vote, so I was told there were 2 options, Democrat and Republican.  I asked which one I should pick and was told that it was my decision and that we currently were under Democratic rule in Chicago. The only thing I remembered about Chicago Politics was people complaining about the Daley Machine, corrupt politics, how they have forgotten the people, and how they corrupted this state into bankruptcy. So, I became a Republican because of the values I share with the party, the party of Abraham Lincoln,” the website reads.

She recently held a fundraiser at the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum in Rock Island.

“A Special Thank You to Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum - Rock Island for hosting my fundraiser!," she said on Facebook. "And THANK YOU to all who attended my History and a Movie Fundraiser! Even with all the Hiccups it was fun! Special thanks to Esther and The Swansons for stopping by! And Thanks to my Republican Women Volunteers and the RICO GOP Chair Glen Evans for Volunteering to help me set up! It was a lot of work. Thank you Charlie for coming out in pain, aaannnnddd Thanks to the Bat that flew through and created havoc, keeping things lively...”

Stallings was the only candidate in the June 28 GOP primary.

"We are very dedicated to Marian Stallings’s campaign and I hope you will join us on the trail," Evans said. "For more information on Marian Stallings, visit her website and facebook."
