Manager, Finance and Human Resources

Position Summary

The Manager, Finance and Human Resources is responsible for services within internal operations of accounting and human resource duties including implementing accounting and human resource processes. They demonstrate a high degree of accounting and human resource knowledge with a desire to continually improve processes and workflows. This position reports to the Director, Finance & Database Services.

Essential Duties 

Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.

Accounting

  • Manage the processing of daily deposits
  • Processes accounts payable and ensures accurate recording of expenses and payment
  • Ensures timely recording of monthly Chamber credit card statements and payment
  • Answers accounting inquiries from team members, customers and vendors
  • Assist in annual audit, budget and tax return preparation
  • Monthly tie-out of employee benefit invoices to payroll deductions and general ledger accounts
  • Ensures accurate records of journal entries by tying out backup documentation
  • Prepares general ledger entries by compiling and analyzing account information
Human Resources

  • Responsible for conducting annual open enrollment and notification of coverage changes to brokers/providers
  • Completes onboarding and offboarding team members
  • Posts open positions on job boards, social media, etc.; compiles resumes and assists hiring manager with interviews; archives resumes and interview notes
  • Assist team members with human resource questions regarding payroll, paid leave, deductions, etc.
  • Backup for payroll processing
  • Assures Chamber is in compliance with all state, federal and local laws, rules and regulations regarding payroll and Human Resources
  • Updates payroll system for rate changes for benefits and adds/removes benefit programs from payroll system when approved
  • Maintains electronic human resource files (local storage and HR software)
  • Familiar with Chamber benefit programs with the ability to explain to team members
  • Manages office security and telephone system
  • Completes Federal and State reporting requirements and surveys
  • Participates annually to advance the Chamber’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy
Other Duties

  • Assist other teams as required to achieve completion of strategic goals
  • Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications 

To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.

Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree desired

Salary: $45,000
