City of East Moline Committee of the Whole met Aug. 21.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

ROLL CALL

Mayor Freeman called the meeting to order and directed City Clerk Wanda Roberts-Bontz to call the roll. The following Alderpersons were present: Olivia Dorothy, Nancy Mulcahey, Rhea Oakes, Lynn Segura and Jose Rico. Absent: Jeffrey Deppe and Adam Guthrie 6:57 p.m.

ADDITIONS/CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA

None.

SURPLUS PROPERTY – DISPOSAL (Robert DeFrance, Fire Chief) The fire department replaced all of our radio equipment with new P-25 compliant equipment a few years ago. The old equipment is obsolete and has no useful purpose or value.

We are requesting the Committee of the Whole declare this as surplus property and authorize the fire department to dispose of this equipment at an electronics recycling facility.

A list of surplus equipment with serial numbers is attached.

This is not a budgeted item.

This is not a CIP.

RECOMMENDATION:

Declare listed equipment as surplus an authorize disposal by recycling.

A motion was made by Alderperson Rico, seconded by Alderperson Mulcahey to concur with the recommendation as presented. Upon roll call the following voted in favor: Rico, Dorothy, Mulcahey, Oakes, and Segura. Motion carried.

ADJOURMENT:

A motion was made by Alderperson Oakes, seconded by Alderperson Rico to adjourn the Committee-of-the-Whole meeting. Upon roll call the following voted in favor: Rico, Dorothy, Mulcahey, Oakes, and Segura. Motion carried. 7:00 p.m.
