Judge Joe McGraw, a candidate for the 17th Congressional District, is rallying support as the petition passing season nears its end.

“Help ensure my name is on the ballot on March 19th!” McGraw said on Facebook. “We’re almost to the end of petition passing season! A big thank you to all of our volunteers who have been out gathering signatures.”

“If you haven’t signed yet, download a petition below and return it before November 27th when we will file!”

Candidates throughout Illinois began the broader election season by gathering signatures for the Mar. 19 primary ballot starting Sept. 5. According to stipulations by the State of Illinois, candidate petitions must be submitted to the County Clerk between Monday, Nov. 27 at 8 am, and Monday, Dec. 4, at 5 pm. Submissions can be made either in person or through mail.

Alongside local contests, Mar. 19 primary voters in the state will select presidential nominees for both Democratic and Republican parties as well as elect delegates for party conventions scheduled for August, WTTW reported.

The 17th Congressional District includes Carroll, Fulton, Henry, Knox, McDonough, Mercer, McLean, Peoria, Rock Island, Stephenson, Tazewell Warren Whiteside, and Winnebago counties.
