State Senator Neil Anderson is once again hosting his annual "Valentines for Seniors" card drive, inviting constituents across the 47th District to show their appreciation for senior citizens. The card drive, which runs from now until February 5, 2024, aims to brighten the day of seniors who may feel lonely or forgotten on Valentine's Day.

"We hope to show our seniors how much they are appreciated by receiving personalized and creative cards from the community," said Senator Anderson. "On a day focused around love, it's important to remember our seniors and make them feel special."

The program encourages students, scout groups, churches, and other organizations to create homemade cards that will be distributed to nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, and other long-term care facilities throughout the 47th Senate District. Senator Anderson is calling on the community to come together and help make this year's card drive a success.

Cards can be dropped off at Sen. Anderson's district office located at 103 N. College Ave. #201, Aledo, IL 61231. A drop box will be available inside the office during normal business hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For after-hour drop-offs, a small mailbox will be located outside the office.

The annual "Valentines for Seniors" card drive has been a great success in previous years, bringing joy and warmth to senior citizens in the 47th District. Senator Anderson hopes to surpass previous years' achievements and make an even greater impact this year.

"We have seen the positive impact these cards have on our seniors, and I am grateful to everyone who participates in this program," Senator Anderson remarked. "Your efforts truly make a difference in the lives of our senior citizens, and I encourage everyone to get involved."

By participating in the "Valentines for Seniors" card drive, the community can come together to spread love and appreciation to those who may feel isolated during the Valentine's Day season. Let's show our seniors that they are valued and loved by creating personalized and heartfelt cards.
