City of Moline Park & Recreation Board met May 2.

Call to Order

Park Board President, Bill Abel, called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. in the Public Works Conference Room.

Public Comment

There was no public comment.

Approval of Minutes and Consent Agenda Items

Approval of the Park Board Meeting Minutes of March 28, 2024.

Approval and acceptance of departmental March/April bill payment and departmental March/April revenue, expenditures, capital projects, park reserve and cemetery reports.

Approval of a Special Use Application for River Action to utilize Sylvan Island, the Ralph Birks Recreational Trail/Ben Butterworth Parkway for their annual Taming of the Slough. The event is to be held Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. (this includes set-up and clean-up time).

Omnibus Vote

John Knaack, seconded by Don Welvaert, moved to approve items by omnibus vote. Motion carried with unanimous approval.

Non-Consent Agenda Items

Riverside Riverslide Change Order #9. Change order #9, in the amount of $9,251.32, was presented to park board for approval. Change order #9 includes a new gas line for pool heater and deck drain evaluation changes & rerouting. As of 4/15/2024, the Riverside Riverslide Project, with the approval of change order #9, has had a total of $444,945.18 in change orders. Staff recommended approval. Don Welvaert motioned to approve, motion seconded by Susie Archer. Motion carried unanimously.
